Aroma-Sense Play Dough

Whether you’re a parent, grandparent, aunt, uncle, sibling or friend, chances are you’ve noticed how the children in your life enjoy getting the green light to get their little hands messy.

Essential oils can easily be incorporated into hands-on sensory activities with a little bit of mess-making.  Try this do-it-yourself recipe play dough recipe for stimulating the senses with aroma and touch.  One thing to remember: teach children to avoid touching the eye area with essential oils on their hands.

Consider incorporating a few drops of dōTERRA Lavender essential oil into the sensory dough for its calming, restful effects. Try as a pre-nap activity or for a soothing distraction on a fussy afternoon.   Lemon and Wild Orange can brighten up a gloomy mood - perfect on rainy days.  Balance blend is grounding and settling for anxious children.  You can add Lavender to Balance for a super "chillax" blend.  Peppermint can be invigorating and a good afternoon pick me up after nap time.  There are many more to use but these are a few favorites!  Ask me for more ideas below.  I'd love to hear from you and what you are doing with this recipe.  For more great recipes and info, subscribe to my blog !  To purchase any of these oils and the best prices, I'm here to help you do that too.
