Pets, Stains, & Odors

Pets are such an important part of our lives. I have a sweet little dog that is truly part of our family. Having pets does pose some cleaning challenges that require special solutions. Here are a few of my favorite natural cleaning hacks when dealing with pet stains and odors at home to keep things fresh.

Onguard Cleaner Concentrate Spray - I mix a mild solution of 1 tsp of concentrate in a 8 oz spray bottle. Fill with water. Use on affected area to clean and sanitize.

Onguard Oil DIY Spray - If you don't have the cleaner concentrate, you can mix your own by adding 5 drops of Onguard oil to a castille or non-toxic liquid soap and put in a spray bottle. Top with water. Use as needed on affected areas.

Purify Oil Deodorizer - Freshen your home by adding 10-15 drops Purify oil to 1 cup baking soda. Mix well. Sprinkle onto rugs, mattresses, upholstery. Leave for 1-2 hours. Vacuum the area. You can also toss a spoonful into your laundry when washing pet blankets, bedding and winter coats.

Always give pets space to exit the room when using essential oils. Their little noses are much more sensitive than ours and they may find some aromas overwhelming. Keep your pets off areas you are treating or cleaning with essential oils until they have dryed and been vacuumed.
